Ok now I had been about 4 episodes behind but finally caught up last night and let me just say it was a major let down. The ending was terrible, not just because Stephan is now going to be MIA and blood thirsty but it was just “bleh.” I don’t know how else to say it.. and Elijiah should have known his brother would double cross him, however something tells me wer’ve not see the last of him.
I really thought Elijiah would kill him, he was after all a “man of his word.” I can’t wait for him to come back and get some revenge because you know he will, he has too. Now this whole curse on Klaus is stupid, half werewold and half vampire?? WTH is that? I do not recall that in the books, and honestly can they be anymore Underworld there?
Now the Sheriff shooting and yes killing Jeremy… that was a where the hell did that come from moment. Damon on the other hand who was standing in front of Jeremy… he moved… now I know he was sort of out of it and stuff but to move and let Jeremy get shot, did anyone else not realize that? I do have my concerns on if the sheriff is finally going to realize being a vampire in that town is not so black and white as she hugs Caroline, and comes to realize her stubbornness on black and white made her kill a innocent kid… regardless of Bonnie bringing him back to life. As for Matt, you know he wants to get passed the Vampire thing and he probably will so we will see on that.
Jenna being killed, well yes this was the ep before the finale but still, I’m sort of going over the last 4 episodes here… that was unexpected. Now I know she needed to get written out somewhere because honestly she was just a filler character and held no importance there, but turning her into a vampire after basically finding out vampires exist was so unfair. Klaus really is an ass, especially since Stephan was there to offer himself up for a trade, but as we saw he wanted Stephan for different purpposes so he could not kill him and that he knew of Damon was already dying.
Another shocker was John’s self sacrifice for Elena, so that she would not become what he’s spent his life hunting and fighting against. Elena’s whole crying routine “I don’t want to be a vampire Stephan…” yada yada was annoying. Come on now, she has to be aware that if she does not at some point become a vampire then she will get old and die, and Stephan will then have to move on… to perhaps Katherine… or someone else but still move on without her. She can’t really love him all that much now can she? Especially after she kissed her boyfriends brother! Elena has always come across as the Lana Lang type, whiney, wow is me, poor crying orphaned child. So very annoying…. how dare she mess with Damon’s feelings by kissing him like that, however I am glad Katherine was there to sort of poke at her telling her its ok to love both brothers, because she did.
Now because Damon tried to do good and resuce Caroline and in the end Tyler, he got bit and a death sentence.. Stephan to rescue Damon handed himself over to Klaus who just the day before killed Elena (althought she was brought back to life), while in the process Jenna was killed, John sacraficed himself, Jeremy was killed (and bought back, I guess he didn’t want Elena to be the only special one brought back), and now we have ghosts running around thanks to Bonnie’s magic and ignoring the dead witches about “consequences.” This has been the most bloodiest season finale I have seen on any show in a long, long time! One can only wonder now what will happen with Stephan? Will Elena and Damon screw over Stephan… unintentially of course, and is Jeremy now the kid who can “see dead people… er vampires?”
