I haven’t blogged in a while but gonna try and change that up again. My pc has been acting up, video lagging etc. Took the heat-sink fan out and replaced the heat-sink compound and so far so good (knock on wood), so I am hoping it stays that way. I used some radio shack brand thermal compound to replace the heat-sink compound it had. My GPU is at around 67 degrees celcius and although I think thats too high, its like 154 degrees farenheight, it seems to be a ok temp from what I’ve read around online. I have an integrated Nvidia 9100 so it’s not a good card for gaming etc but I’ve never been too much of a pc gamer except for maybe Sims now and then. I had no issues when it was on Vista, I’m running Windows 7 XP now and it was good for maybe 2 months after installing Windows 7 (clean install) before the video lagging started to happen. I am thinking of maybe getting some Arctic Silver thermal compound that has pure silver in it, but I’m a bit wary as it could harm the cpu. I got some more posts to do later but tis it for now.

So I hadn’t tried to use a SD card with my laptop yet until 2 days ago, Tue. 14th. It would start to copy the images/videos I had on one of my SD cards, then crash explorer.exe and give me a Com Surrogate stopped working error. After about 2 hours of searching and finding no help with M$, I found a post about it being related to video thumbnails and codec’s that didn’t work right. WHICH was a similar issue I had on my XP desktop with video thumbnails and had to do some tweaking to that. SO to resolve the issue, I deleted my K-Lite codec pack, hopefully I don’t regret that later, and installed the Vista Codec Pack from Major Geeks. I tried again (although not the same one that kept crashing Tue. night), and it worked. SO come later today when I am at work, I’ll try the other one, let someone borrow it, should be gettin’ in back tomorrow. So if anyone who has this issue, try this and see if it works. Might help, might not, but I’m sure you won’t got much to lose.

So I posted  a picture of my login screen that I changed using Stardocks Object Desktop Vista Logon Studio. Real simple. But that wasnt the only thing I changed. I changed my boot screen too, using Vista Boot Logo Generator. Here are all 3 images, my login, my boot up, and my wallpaper. Both programs I used for login and boot up are absolutley free. To get to the Vista version of Logon Studio, click on download on the main page, and it will give you the option to get XP version, or Vista version.

Now if I was only not chicken to customize the outside of my laptop, but I’ll wait until AFTER my warranty expirses? I ain’t no fool. But here is a shot of my Laptop, it came with this design, so its not a blank case. So here are the 4 pictures of my laptop.

So I found 2 separate images on Google’s Image search… The background and the kid were diff images. I combined and edited the kid, and then made a login user picture to match up with the heart on the background. After 5 tries I had it aligned so it looks like there is no user image, just the wallpaper peeking through a clear box. I changed my boot picture too, I’ll post an image of that later. Now I’m going 2 bed… Tis past 7am… -Jess

Ok, so now that I have used this for a bit, I am about 60% satisfied, and 40% not. Why you ask? At first it kept timing out. Which was insane, and annoying. My MT Smilies that took me forever to install when I first got MT, dont work. Nor did the bold, italic, underline, or URL bttns show either. Well after some many MANY HOURS of working on it, I came to a compromise with this damn browser. I got the bold, italic, underline, and URL bttns to show, and work when clicking them from…. damn I had the website addy.. I’ll post it later when I find it. As for my smilies. Well I can see them, and when I put my mouse over them, see the javascript code in the status bar, enabling me to see the emotion commands for each emotion, so I can atleast see the command, and type it in.

FireFTP is a extention for Firefox. And ITS GREAT!!! No more having to open a damn FTP client when I already got a million things open. FireFTP opens in Firefox as another tab, as if it was a website. GREAT. Thought it might get stuck from time to time, unresponsive, I can deal with that, its still in beta, so for beta, its GREAT!!!

I like to be able to control winamp from the bottom of the browser, very convinient.

Has a Gmail Notifier extention as well. Lots of cool extentions is what makes me like this damn thing, even though its so troublesome with some things, i.e. MT.

Ok thats it for now. I am angry still, need to calm down. Kids lost my VCR remote. Cant program it anymore, WHICH IS BAD!! I NEED A PROGRAMABLE REMOTE!!! ASAP!!! JVC!!! I looked for over 2 hrs for it. NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!! Damn brats :redx:

I am now a firefox user. HOWEVER, there’s alot of adjustments to do when using this damn browser. Like for one, I cant see my installed smilies on my blog when doing a new entry… found a fix for it that will take time for me to do.

I still havent figured out the new tab/new window/ thing. It opens some in a new tab, some in the same tab, some in a new browser, which is annoying.

And id dont seem to want to recognise colored scrollbars created with .css not sure why on that one. Will look into it.

A lot of little nitpicks that might make me dump this browser, but for now, I am giving it a chance.

Ok well first lets start off with why I am angry, then Ill talk about what SKYPE is. Ok why am I angry? Well right now, for three reasons.

1. My nephew Gaby yesterday hid my kitten in a table that we have in the living room. It closes, so its like a table box, I would take a picture but I cant cause I HAVE NO MORE CAMERA!!!!!! Anyways I was asleep when he went to school, and when I got up, I looked for my cat. Coulnt find her anywhere. It wasnt til he got home from school he got her out of where he put her. She was locked in there ALL DAY!!!!!!!!!! And no one does shit to him, they are all like, “leave him alone.” Im’a kick his ass.

2. Today I come home to see my nephew Gaby, and my niece Cici coming out of my room. They were PLAYING WITH MY COMPUTER!!!! They changed my desktop theme, they opened the drivers, they opened programs!!! And again, “leave him alone.” I swear this kid is gonna get knocked out tomorrow.

3. I HAVE NO CAMERA!!!!!!!!!

Ok now on to SKYPE.

UNCONTROLLABLE SCROLLING IN EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND MY Damn shift bttn is acting as a damn back button!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone one know how to fix this! Its driving me insane!
