So yeah I got my sisters, friend, and my tickets for New Moon already!!!

This contains details of the movie and in such is considered spoilerish. I hate spoilers myself so this is your warning to stop reading.

So I went and took my 11 year old nephew with me to see Public Enemies. I know some people may thing a 11 year old is too young to see this but he dressed up as a 30’s gangster for Halloween last year and he completely wanted to see this and I saw no issue with it. I think people shelter kids too much these days, and in turn they are sometimes bombarded and not ready for the real world when they are older. There was one scene in which I told him to cover his eyes but they did not really show anything (John Dillinger and his gal were in bed but nothing was really shown, but just as a precaution I had him cover his eyes).

Now let me say Johnny Depp was perfect for this role. You need someone whom you want to be bad, and like them being bad. You want to like them even though they are stealing thousands of dollars and shooting people up left and right. Although John Dillinger does not seem like he wants to kill anyone, he just wants to rob banks, but he’s not gonna lay down and get arrested or shot, so shooting is a must.

Now let me say the first surprise in this movie is that soon to be G.I. Joe himself, Channing Tatum makes a appearance in this movie as Pretty Boy Floyd. I had not seen that he was going to be in this movie, although it was a brief seen, it was still cool to see.

Anyways, John Dillinger was a ballsy bank robber whom the public had no problem with. Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis was awesome, he is the law man put in charge in catching the original Public Enemy #1. He plays the role of the good guy in such a way that you want him to fail in catching the bad guy. Bale does a excellent job in making you hate Purvis. There are many people your gonna hate in this movie whom are not the ‘bad guys.’

Before seeing the movie I read over the FBI’s John Dillinger’s record so I knew how it would end, but that did not keep me from going to see it. You can also go to the Official John Dillinger website or the Public Enemies website to read more about the real Dillinger if you like. I think that Dillinger got screwed over and it was the system who turned him into the man he ended up becoming, well that and his father. He was beaten as a child, his mother died when he was 3, and the courts gave him something like 20 years when he was about 22, for a $50 dollar crime. That was insane and retarded, no wonder he became a criminal. He was released after 9 years.

If you like the Godfather or those types of films, or perhaps Gangster documentaries on A&E you will or should like this movie. This movie has awesome beautiful historical cars, the ‘old movies’ classy feel to it. You get lots of shooting, dust, and blood in this movie. The FBI and police are made fools of by John Dillinger, and you root for the bad guy. It was an awesome movie.

If current technology and the types of movies and tv we have now existed back then, that perhaps would be the era I’d like to live in for a while.

Well I’ve been meaning to post about this just not had the chance. As I’m a movie fanatic I go to the movies almost every weekend… sometimes more than once… Well I’ve seen previews for Race To Witch Mountain a few times already and I don’t know what my thoughts are on this. Race To Witch Mountain is a remake of the original made in the 70’s and it’s sequals, and the 1995 remake Escape to Witch Mountain which was made by Disney starring Eric Vot Detten (Brink, So Weird), and Elizabeth Moss. I was the generation of the 1995 Disney remake, so to me that is “my” Witch Mountain, so when I saw that The Rock was in this I did not like it. The Rock, Dwayne Johnoson to me says comedy and bad acting… sorry he can’t act… at least not in the movie’s I’ve seen him in. The kid’s seem to work casting wise and Anna Sophia Robb is a good actress so I don’t have worries about them, just The Rock. I’ll take the kids most likely to see this and then I’ll give my opinions, thoughts, etc. Here are the posters for the Original, 1995 Remake (tv ad could not find movie poster), and the current 2009 remake.

Ok first off I want to say, NO THIS IS NOT A HEROES RIP OFF!! This was written before Heroes was even a thought. I also want to say that HEROES is not original either. This movie although has similarities to other movies, it is still unique in its own way.

Second point is about Dakota Fanning (Cassie). So she said damn and shit a few times, and wore a mini skirt, WHO FUCKING CARES! She’s not 9 years old anymore, get over it. I’ve always thought she was a good actress and I’m glad to see her getting more older roles.

Now moving along to Chris Evans (Nick)… always nice to look at, but that is not why I liked him in it. Despite some people who say he can’t act, he can. He does a good job in this movie and I am hoping for a sequel.

The only thing I did not like was Camilla Belle (Kira). I know she can act because I’ve seen her in other films, but in this one… she was a bore, a drone, I got nothing from her performance, as if she was reading well… a script… her character had no chemistry with Chris’ character.

Chris and Dakota’s characters had real nice brother/younger sister chemistry going on which was nice. I wonder if they hung out before filming, with such an age difference they seemed to get along ok, no forced relationship feel or anything.

I enjoyed this movie so much that not only did I see it Saturday (would have been Friday but saw Coraline with my sister, niece, and nephews) that I saw it Sunday too!

Push is about people with abilities (Watchers, Pushers, Movers, etc) that are fighting a government group called, “The Division,” who wish to create human weapons. Although it sounds familiar plot wise, everything is somehow got something from other things, try and come up with a movie that has nothing any other movie has ever had… you’ll find it’s not so easy. HOWEVER still this movie as I said is unique in it’s own way. Go watch it!
