Chapter 1 – You Think It’s Him?

A figure always walked around in the dark alleys behind the convenient store and the set of run down motels. A month or so ago the person just seemed to show up one day. Kids use to hang around the room they believed was his in the day, they would hear movement inside but no one ever came out…. Until night time that is. The person, always in the shadows, or wearing a hooded sweater would go out, spend a few hours out and about, then could be heard in the alley on his way back.

Meanwhile back In Hazzard…

It had been 1 month and a half since they got back to Hazzard, Jonathan still wasn’t talking to anyone, he just stayed in Luke’s room either asleep, or in a chair looking out a window. He didn’t eat much, so he had lost weight considerably… but not so much that he looked sick or anything.

“I took your cousin his lunch,” Luke* told his dad.

“Thank you… I got some work to do on the farm, you keep an eye on him,” Luke told his son.

“Dad… how long is he going to be like this?” Luke* asked his dad.

“I don’t know son, I don’t know,” Luke replied walking out of the house.

Luke Jr. had been keeping an eye on Jonathan everyday since they got back when his dad would go out to work. He had work himself to do, but waited until his dad came back in to do it. There hadn’t been much going on, not like it used to be with him and Bo Jr., and John, and Jesse always hanging out, racing, partying, or just driving around. Bo Jr. had been staying at Luke and John’s house; he didn’t want to be around Jonathan.

After they had gotten back they told Bo Jr. that Martha had died, and Clark had lost it and ran off. No one talked to Bo Jr. about what had happened in the cave, and Rodney and Lewis never went back to Hazzard so there was no reason to make Bo Jr. angry over trying to get him to discuss it.

It was around noon when John and Jesse ran into Luke’s house with some papers, and shoving them into Luke’s face.

“What is this?” Luke* asked.

“Well you know I’ve been looking for Clark, calling places, checking up on any weird things we hear on the news, and we got something,” Jesse told him.

“What?” Luke* asked.

“Read it,” John told him, so Luke* read it then looked up at his brother and his cousin.

“You think this is him?” Luke* asked.

“The time that he showed up there, fits the time Clark left, the description matches, everything is there,” Jesse answered.

“So what do you plan to do?” Luke* asked.

“We go out there, take some of that green rock we brought back with us… just in case you know, and use that against Clark to get him here,” Jesse said.

“That ring with the red rock turned him into a mean crazy person, how do you know that stuff will affect him while the ring is on him?” Luke* asked.

“I don’t know, but it’s worth a shot,” Jesse said.

“Are we going to do this or not?” John asked.

“We are… we’ll leave tonight, leave a note for my dad so he sees it in the morning, he wouldn’t want us to go if we told him, he wouldn’t understand,” Luke said.

“Understand what?” Luke asked walking in.

“Dad,” John said startled.

“We’re going to get Clark,” Jesse said.

“You know where he is?” Luke asked.

“We think we…” Jesse began.

“You think, you don’t know, you say you found Clark then you say you don’t know!” Jonathan shouted at them from the living room. It was the first time he had said anything in weeks. The first time he got up and walked.

“Bo,” big Luke said, “they’re young, they don’t know what they are doing,” he glanced at them.

“Clark won’t come here, not without Martha,” Jonathan stopped, “without Martha…” he was about to break down when Luke walked over to him and helped him stay up. He looked at the boys as he walked Jonathan back to the room, a few minutes later he came back to the kitchen.

“If that green rock doesn’t work you boys stay away from him and come home you hear me,” Luke told his boys and Jesse.

“Ok,” they said. Luke then went back to the room to try and get Jonathan to talk some more.

“Are we going to tell Bo?” John asked.

“We can’t,” Luke* said.

“We can’t leave without telling him something either,” John said.

“What do we tell him then?” Jesse asked Luke*.

“Nothing, we leave right now, and he wont know until morning that we left, grab some bags, and lets go,” Luke* said getting up and heading to get some things, “we’ll need to go to our house for some stuff, and to tell mom we’re going on a trip.”

“No we can’t, Bo* is there,” John said.

“No he isn’t, he went out tonight with Amanda,” Luke* said.

“She’s back with him?” Jesse asked.

“Yeah,” Luke* replied, “I don’t know what their problem is but they are always on and off,” Luke* added, “now let’s go.”
