Chapter 2
The boys waited in a parked car they borrowed from Cooter’s garage so that if it was Clark, he wouldn’t recognize them.
“What time did those kids say he comes out?” Luke asked Jesse, who had early in the day talked to some teenagers hanging outside the corner liquor store.
“About 9,” Jesse said holding up the bag of cheetos and letting the remainder of them fall into his mouth.
“You could have given me some,” John said.
John and Jesse were still not quite back to where they had been before their first trip to Smallville, but it was progressing.
“Shut up, the door is opening,” Luke* peered through the tinted windows. John and Jesse stopped wrestling in the back seat still locked in a hold and looked in the direction towards the door.
“It’s him,” Jesse said.
“We can’t even see his face, and how do you know it’s him,” John said realizing they were still locked, and let go of Jesse.
“That’s his sweater, I remember seeing it in his room once,” Jesse replied.
“Hey… who’s that?” John said pointing towards another guy standing on the side of the building, watching Clark as well.
“OH SHIT!” Luke* got out of the car as fast as he could, “get the rock and come on!”
“What is he doing? We’re supposed to sneak up on…”
“It’s Bo*,” Jesse said as if he was scared suddenly.
John looked and realized it was Bo Jr., and he was approaching Clark, whom he’d reach before Luke* would. They grabbed the rock as Luke* said and ran after him.
“Hey!” Bo* called to Clark as he came up from behind him.
Clark turned around and lifted his head, “what are you doing here,” Clark said more of an accusation then a question.
“Ask them,” Bo* said as Luke* walked up to them.
“Bo*,” Luke* said.
“Save it, I’m not the one you’re after,” Bo* looked at Clark.
“You’re wasting your time, get out of my face,” Clark pushed passed them.
“I’m sorry Clark,” Jesse said holding out the green K.
“You’re gonna be sorry,” Clark said lunging for Jesse, but John held up yet another piece.
Clark’s face fell from angry to full of pain. His veins seemed to pop out from the anguish he was in.
Luke* ran over to the car, and pulled into the motel where they grabbed Clark and stuffed him into the backseat of the borrowed car.
“What the hell are you guys doing to him, isn’t he allergic to that stuff,” Bo* asked.
“Yeah… but… we’ll explain later,” Jesse said.
“Yeah, you will,” Bo* said his tone changing from curiosity to anger.
“Jesse you hold the rocks, and sit in the back with him,” Luke* instructed, “John, go with Bo.”
“No,” Bo* said, “I’m going in the passenger side with you,” he looked at Luke*, “John if you scratch The General you’re gonna pay to repaint him,” he said tossing the keys to John.
Luke* looked at John and nodded with approval.
“What the hell are you looking at him for? GO!” Bo* said shoving John away.
“You and me are gonna have us a long talk,” Bo* opened the back driver side door, “give me those damn rocks, and get out, you’re going with John.”
Jesse did what John had done, and looked at Luke, but Bo* caught it and became angry.
“I said get the fuck out!” Bo* grabbed Jesse by his shirt and pulled him out of the car, “don’t you ever do that again,” he warned Jesse grabbing the rocks from him and getting into the back of the car.
Clark watched in agony as this all was going on, cursing them in his head, and scared that they might actually do what they had come to, which was take him back to his dad.
Bo* waited until they were on the highway; they weren’t more than 6 hours away from Hazzard. They would get there around 4am or so depending on if they stopped to get something to eat… to go of course. They had been gone from Hazzard for 2 days. They left July 10th around 11pm when they thought Bo* would be with Amanda, and arrived at the motel the 11th around 6am. They decided to get some sleep before going out to watch Clark. It was now the about 9:45pm still the 11th.
“Why are you undermining what I tell John and Jesse, are you going to decide what I can and can’t tell them?” Bo* said looking at Luke* through the rear view mirror.
“It’s not like that Bo*,” Luke* said.
“We’ve never, NEVER gone on a trip when it wasn’t the four of us, so imagine my surprise AND anger when me and Amanda pull up just enough and in time to see you tossing bags into the trunk,” Bo* was furious, “explain that to me.”
“You don’t like Clark; we didn’t want to upset…”
“AND TAKING OFF WITHOUT TELLING ME A DAMN THING WASN’T GOING TO UPSET ME!” Bo* shouted at him.
“I don’t want to argue with you Bo*, I need to watch the road, I don’t want to…” Luke* caught himself before he said something, but it was too late.
“Crash, like I did, is that it, everything is still about that,” Bo* shook his head, “if we need to talk about that again, just tell me, I can’t take it back, and I can’t keep on telling you that I’m…”
“I didn’t say that Bo*, and it isn’t about that, I can’t tell you what this is about right now, not until you come to some understanding with your dad…”
“DON’T!” Bo* stuck the rock he was holding towards Clark and put it into Clark’s shirt pocket, then made his way over the seat to the front, “don’t you ever call him that.”
Luke* suddenly pulled over to the side and hit the brakes, getting out and leaving Bo* in the car with Clark.
John and Jesse pulled in behind them, and went over to the car to see what was going on.
“What…” Jesse began.
“The rocks are in his shirt pocket, watch him,” Bo* said getting out of the car and going after Luke*.
Bo* was tired of what had been going on since they got back home, and tired of paying for his mistakes over and over, and tired of being kept out of the loop. He knew something was going on, and it was time he found out what it was.
