Chapter 13

“Bo!” Daisy shouted running down the hospital hallway towards where John, Jesse, Jonathan, and Clark were. Followed by a worried Martha, and Luke.

“Calm down, the doctor is in with them right now. They put them into a double room,” Jonathan told them.

“What happened?” Luke asked, “how bad is it!” Luke asked loudly.

“Bo saw Clark and…” he looked at Jonathan not knowing what to call him, Jonathan, Bo, or Uncle something, “driving in Uncle Jesse’s Black Tilly. He didn’t like it, and went after them,” John told his dad.

“Damn it! I knew I should have talked to Bo first,” Luke said.

“Bo didn’t want to talk to anyone about anything right now,” Jesse said.

“And that’s my fault,” Jonathan said.

“No, its not,” Daisy told him, “don’t you think that.” The doctor came out of the room at that moment.

“Doctor! How are they, will they be ok?” Luke asked.

“Are you the father?” the doctor asked Luke.

“I am Luke’s father, Bo is my nephew,” Luke told him.

“I am Bo’s father,” Jonathan spoke.

“Jonathan? I didn’t know…” the doctor had known them already for a long time, and that he knew of, that everyone knew of in Smallville was that Jonathan and Martha only had one child, and one child only, Clark.

“Doctor, please,” Daisy urged him to tell.

“Well, Luke being on the side of the impact sustained the most injuries in the accident. He is in a coma, has a broken right leg, 3 broke ribs on his right side, some swelling in the brain, we hope it will subside on its own, or we will have to operate,” the doctor told Luke.

“Is it dangerous?” Luke asked.

“Yes, I ask you start to prepare yourself incase we have to operate… incase things worsen,” the doctor told him.

“And Bo?” Jonathan asked.

“Well upon impact it seems he tried to shield his cousin but the position he was in, it did no good, it just hurt him, because he left his head unprotected except for some of his left arm that helped a bit. His head however did slam it onto the steering wheel. He is unconscious has a broken right foot, caused by putting extreme pressure on it, most likely trying to break, and a broken left arm,” the doctor explained.

“When will they wake up?” Luke asked.

The doctor looked at Luke, “I am sorry, we cannot say when or if Luke will ever come out of the coma, Bo could wake up now to any time in the next few days,” the doctor replied, “I am truly sorry,” he waited a second then began to walk away when Luke suddenly grabbed him and threw him up against the wall.

“Dad!” John exclaimed.

“Luke!” Jonathan tried to pull him off the doctor.

“MY SON WILL WAKE UP!” Luke told the doctor, “YOU WILL SAVE MY SON!”

“Luke! Let go!” Jonathan pulled him off.

“I am sorry for what you’re going through, but I’m going to have to ask you to leave,” the doctor told.

“Glenn… please… “ Martha said.

“Very well, but please control him,” the doctor left.

Jonathan still had a grip on Luke’s shoulders when Luke pulled away from him and walked off.

“Dad!” John went after him.

“Wait!” Clark went after Luke, Jonathan, Martha, Daisy, and Jesse watching as he walked up to Luke and John, “I’m sorry. This is my fault. Bo told me the car wouldn’t be mine, and I told him it was, if I hadn’t said anything…” Clark began.

“It’s not your fault,” Jonathan came up from behind him, “it’s mine.”

“No Bo, it’s mine, for keeping this from you for so long,” Luke said.

“Don’t say that dad,” John told him.

“Are you all crazy?” Jesse spoke up.

“Jesse!” Daisy exclaimed.

“No, I’m sorry but you all are crazy. This isn’t anyone’s fault but Bo’s. He chased the car. He was the one who tried to run Clark and…” he looked at Jonathan again, “off the road. It’s not anyone’s fault but his!”

“Shut up Jesse,” John warned.

“No. I’m always doing what you 3 say. Well that’s in. Not anymore,” he talked back.

“I said shut up!” John shoved him.

“No!” Jesse rammed into him pushing him into the wall.

“STOP IT!” Luke shouted. The boys froze immediately, “just… stop,” Luke trying to hold it together. He quickly took off towards the hospital entrance to get out.

John looked at Jesse then took off after his dad.

“I’m sorry mom,” Jesse told Daisy.

“It’s ok,” she pulled him to her.

“I’m going to go to the house… they were going to leave the cars there, someone should be there,” Clark said.

“Yes, your right, Jonathan maybe you should go get some…” Martha began.

“No, I’m ok,” Jonathan told her, she nodded, “ok.”

“I’ll drive you, mom do you have your keys?” Jesse asked. She gave them to him. John has the keys to the car he and him used.

“That’s ok, I can walk,” he told Jesse.

“Go with him son,” Jonathan told him.

“I’ll be back later,” Clark told them. Jonathan grabbed him and hugged him strong for a few moments before letting go. Martha gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“You two be careful,” Daisy said.

Jesse and Clark headed out to the car. As they walked through the parking lot they spotted Luke crying, John was right there trying to calm him down, but his eyes watery as well. John saw them, but looked away.
