Chapter 25

Bo had been home for 2 days, not doing much of anything. He spent most of the day alone, then went to bed alone in a hammock he set outside. Luke had tried to get him to come inside the first night, but it did no good. He told him that Luke was going to be fine now, that he shouldn’t worry. But Bo wouldn’t listen.

“Bo, we could use your help fixing the General you know,” Jesse said walking over to him. It was around noon, May 5th.

“Why, just leave it as it is,” Bo remarked.

“We’re fixing it for when Luke gets out, we can pick him up in it,” Jesse replied.

“No,” Bo said.

“I’m tired of your poor helpless act Bo, it’s tiresome, so you know what, get the fuck over it!,” Jesse said then turned to walk away when he was hit from behind.

“Do NOT start with me Jesse,” Bo told him.

Jesse got up fast, “or what, you gonna beat m up,” Jesse remarked poking him in the chest.

“Your damn straight I am,” Bo said throwing a right punch at Jesse hitting him in the face. Then Jesse went for Bo.

“Jesse! Bo!” John shouted from where they were working on the General. Clark was at school, it was Monday and Jonathan had decided Clark had enough time off from school.

Bo and Jesse were rolling around hitting each other on the ground.

“Stop!” John shouted at them trying to pull them apart but getting knocked to the ground.

Jesse was under Bo, Bo with his left arm still broke was holding best he could onto Jesse’s neck, while hitting him with his right arm. John continued to try and pull him off of Jesse, but wasn’t able to. But when Bo pushed John away for the 6th or so time, Jesse was able to kick Bo off, and now he had Bo, and was hitting him. He was punching Bo in the face repeatedly when Jonathan and Luke came running over. John had gone to get them.

“That’s enough!” Luke grabbed Jesse and pulled him off of Bo. Bo immediately tried to grab him but Jonathan got a hold of him first.

Luke was angry. Angrier then they have ever seen.

“That is it!” Luke shouted, “as soon as Luke is released we’re leaving. I can’t keep doing this!” Luke shouted at Jesse and Bo, “you two cant be near each other, Jesse will go back home, Bo you and me back at the Farm, and John and Luke will stay at their mothers until you all learn to grow up!” Luke started to walk away, but stopped to look at Jonathan who was still holding Bo back, “I’m sorry Bo, I wish things could be different, but it doesn’t look like anything is going to get better,” Luke told him.
Jonathan let Bo go, and Bo pulled away as soon as he did. He starred at Jesse as he passed him and walked off.

“Things are better,” Jonathan went over to him, “with me and you at least, but its a lot more then I thought would happen when I got that letter from Daisy,” he put his arm and Luke’s shoulder.

“Your right,” Luke said, “but I’m sorry things… other things turned out how they have.”

“I know, so am I,” Jonathan said. They both walked of together.

Bo had taken Daisy’s car, and drove off. His left foot was broken, but he drove with his right foot anyways. John saw, and got into his and Jesse’s car and went after him. They had managed to get a good CB signal while in Smallville, and had all the cars set to it, so he was able to talk to Bo who was ahead of him speeding down the road.

John grabbed the CB, “Bo stop the car.”

No response.

“Bo damn it! Stop the car!” he repeated.

“Leave me alone John, I’m glad that you at least were on my side, but I just need some space right now,” Bo told him.

“I was on your side because I know you Bo, I know something is wrong with you, something is bothering you, and I think I know what it is, but you can’t keep running from it!” John said, the radio though was starting to cut out, it had started to rain, it had rain the night before as well, but now it was raining hard, and seemed like there was a storm coming.

“Just go John, leave me alone right now,” Bo said pulling off into the woods, John pulled over when he reached the car and went into the woods after him, but wasn’t sure what way Bo had gone.

“Bo!” John shouted, “where did you go!”

No response, but he had found some footprints in the mud, and there was footprints going in one direction, so John followed them.

“Bo!” John shouted through the rain and thunder. But you couldn’t even hear it. He continued to walk until he came up to what looked like some sort of cave.

“Bo! You in there?” John shouted. He started to walk into it when all of a sudden the loudest bang they have ever heard, ever could have imagined rang through the cave, lightning had hit the top. John had started to go in when he heard Bo yell out in pain, “BO!” John ran using a small keychain flashlight that he had as the only source of light to see, but came to a wall… on not a wall… a cave in.

“BO!” John shouted.

“John get out of here!” Bo shouted to him, “this place is gonna go, get out!”

“Not without you!” John said trying to move some boulders, but couldn’t.

“Go! You can’t help me alone, so get out!” Bo shouted. He was against the wall of the side of the cave, and was looking toward an opening, but didn’t know it was there.

“Alright! But here, try and see if you can get this!” John found the small opening and started to put the flashlight through when he saw Bo’s face a few feet from the opening.

“Are you ok?” John asked.

“Just dandy,” Bo replied, “now get out of here,” Bo told him as he reached for the flashlight as John tossed it through as hard as he could so it would get close enough for Bo to get. After John took off, running shoes muddy, in the complete dark, feeling as if he’d never get out, but when he did ran straight to the car. He raced back to the farm to get help.

Jonathan and Luke were out in the front of the house when the saw John speeding into the farm.

“What’s wrong?” Jonathan Luke.

“Few miles down the road, in the woods, there was a cave in,” John said.

“That’s ok, there’s usually cave-in’s this time of year, all the rain, and the lightning,” Jonathan said.

“Bo is inside, he’s stuck behind the cave-in!” John said.

Jonathan and Luke immediately ran and got into the truck. Jesse heard and ran and got into the car with John. Daisy and Martha were in town, so they weren’t there.

Jonathan screeched the truck to a halt when he saw the car Bo was in. They all ran to where John took them.

“Bo we need to get some help, the sheriff, someone,” Luke said.

“I’m going to go in, to see how bad it is,” Jonathan said.

“I’m coming with you, you boys stay out here, I mean it!” Luke told John and Jesse.

Jonathan and Luke started in slowly. Each had a full size flashlight so the light was better. They walked a bit when they finally reached the cave-in.

“Bo!” Luke shouted.

“Bo are you there!” Jonathan shouted.

“Where else would I be,” Bo shot back.

“Are you hurt?” Jonathan asked.

“Yeah… got a broken leg, and arm remember,” Bo grinned to himself.

Jonathan looked at Luke who grinned.

“I mean are you hurt… MORE?” Jonathan asked.

“Well… I think I’m gonna need a new cast on my leg,” Bo shouted. Just then the cave started to make a rumbling noise.

“You two need to get out of here before it gives,” Bo told them.

“Not without you!” Jonathan said, then all of a sudden the roof of the cave where Jonathan and Luke were at started to cave-in as well.

“Look out!” Jonathan shoved Luke out of the way of the falling debris and then it went dark.

“Bo!” Luke shouted, “Bo…Jonathan!” that was the first time he ever called Jonathan by his birth name.

Jonathan coughed some and felt around for the flashlight and turned it on when he found it.

“I’m alright!” Jonathan shouted, “I’m just trapped up against the wall, and my leg is stuck under some rocks,” Jonathan aimed the flashlight through the opening in the first cave-in wall, “are you ok, you hurt?” Jonathan asked him.

“No more then I was already,” Bo replied.

“I’m going to town to get some help!” Luke shouted.

“No!” Jonathan shouted.

“WHAT!?” both Bo and Luke shouted.

“Get Clark, he was getting out of school early today, he should be getting home! There’s no time to go to town,” Jonathan said.

“Bo Clark isn’t going to be…” Luke began.

“Luke!” Jonathan said firmly, “please… just trust me, get Clark,” Jonathan said again.

“Bo I cant… you don’t know what you’re saying…” Luke said.

“Damn it Luke you go and get Clark right now! Please, trust me,” Jonathan shouted. Luke thought he was crazy. He ran out of the cave and told the boys what had happened.

“Don’t you dare think of stepping in there or I’ll skin you alive!” Luke ordered before running to the truck. He wasn’t going for Clark, not intentionally, but as he passed the farm he passed Clark walking home, Luke sighed and slammed the breaks.

“God please don’t let me regret this,” and hit reverse.

“Clark! Get in!” Luke said, and Clark didn’t ask why, he knew something must be wrong. Luke turned the car around, and headed back.
