Chapter 16 – Mistakes Catch Up
posted @ 19:23 in [ Chapter 16 ]

When Bo* saw Black Tilly by the side of the road, he pulled off and stopped the truck. He got out and headed into the woods slowly with caution. He had an idea as to who it was that was doing this, but wasn’t positive. He knew this was his fault. The mistakes he made were catching up with him.

He walked a ways and saw Krypto lying on the ground. He went up to him and saw his leg was broke. He picked him up and walked back to the truck and placed him in the back, in the bed of the truck.

“Good boy, you stay here,” Bo* told him as he headed back to the woods. When he got to where he had seen Krypto someone came out from behind and hit him over the head knocking him out.

When he came to he noticed it was dark, then slowly his eyes adjusted to the dim light from a lantern the 2 guys had with them.

“Well, it’s about time you wake up,” the oldest one told him.

Bo* looked up and saw it was the person he had thought it would be, “Rodney.”

“You really thought you could pull a gun on us, and get away with that?” Rodney told him holding a gun to Bo’s* head.

“Where is Clark,” Bo* asked.

“That plaid wearing idiot,” Rodney pointed behind Bo*, “over there, he seems to be sick or something.”

Bo* saw him lying on the ground in what looked like a lot of pain. Bo* looked around and saw green rocks everywhere. He knew it was the same stuff that he had seen Clark get sick from after the cave.

“He doesn’t have anything to do with this, let him go,” Bo* told Rodney.

“I don’t think so, from what Lewis here has found out in town, he’s your brother right,” Rodney went over to Clark, and put the gun in Clark’s face, who was in extreme pain, “how about I shoot him like you wanted to do with my brother,” Rodney said.

Bo* got up from the ground, “he’s not my brother, he was adopted, I couldn’t care less what you do,” Bo* told them hoping they would back off Clark.

“Lewis,” Rodney walked away from Clark, and headed to the side of the entrance, Clark and Bo* were in towards the back of the cave.

“What,” Lewis asked.

“Did you get the rope like I told you?” Rodney asked him.

“Yeah, I got it right here,” Lewis held it up.

“Go tie Bo’s* hands behind his back,” Rodney told him. Lewis then went and started to tie Bo’s* hands, but Bo* was quick and grabbed Lewis in a headlock and held him firmly onto his neck.

“Drop the gun or I swear I’ll snap his neck,” Bo* demanded.

“You’re a fucking idiot Bo*,” Rodney aimed the gun at Clark, “let Lewis go, or your gonna be a only child.”

“I mean it, you shoot him, I’ll kill your brother,” Bo* shouted at him.

“Rodney just give him the gun,” Lewis pleaded.

“Shut up,” Rodney told him, “drop it Bo! * Last warning.”

“Your gonna make me kill your brother Rodney, don’t do it,” Bo* warned.

Rodney then looked again at Clark, and Bo* saw him about to pull the trigger. He threw Lewis aside and ran.

BANG!

Meanwhile at the farm, the boys and Luke were all in the living room still.

“So, what did he say when you got here?” John asked his dad.

“No, what did your cousin have to say for not telling us Bo* was here,” John said.

“That he didn’t mean to worry us, but he wanted a chance to get Bo* to like him,” Luke replied.

“Why didn’t he just call and tell us that,” Luke* asked.

“I don’t know, people at times of something don’t always think straight, aren’t always rational,” Luke said sounding more like he was trying to tell himself that.

“So how did Bo* get shot?” Jesse asked.

“Clark was trying to take the gun from him when it went off, the bullet hit him, when he dropped the gun, it discharged and fired another shot that grazed my cousins leg,” Luke explained.

“Why’s your cousin in the hospital?” Jesse asked.

“He was, he had taken a fall from the top of the barn, but he’s been released, he’s over there now with Martha, she’s taken sick, real bad, the doctors can’t do much to help her until her fever goes down,” Luke said.

“Is she going to die?” John asked.

“I don’t know, I pray she don’t,” Luke said.

“Bo* and Clark are taking a long time, are you sure they aren’t somewhere trying to kill each other? And with Clark being… what he is… I don’t think it would be hard for him,” John said.

“Clark wouldn’t do that,” Jesse said. They all looked at him surprised.

“Your right, he wouldn’t, and he promised his dad to try and get along with Bo*, and Bo* promised me he would stop his rash behavior,” Luke told them, “but your right, they are taking a long time, lets go see if we can find them.”

The boys and Luke headed out in John and Jesse’s car to look for Bo* and Clark.
