Chapter 5 - Logging In

“Jonathan can you hear me?” Jonathan heard a voice, as he slowly opened his eyes.

“Where am I?” Jonathan said his eyes squinted as his eyes tried to adjust to the light.

“Smallville Medical, you had a bad fall,” the doctor told him.

“I… remember going up the ladder… in the barn… a piece broke,” Jonathan recalled.

“Your son found you and brought you in,” the doctor said as he made Jonathan follow his little flashlight with his eyes.

“Clark?” Jonathan said.

“No…” the doctor looked at the paper, “the name on the sheet says Bo*.”

“Bo*?” Jonathan was a bit taken back, “I need to go,” he said starting to get up.

“You’re not going anywhere, at least not tonight,” the doctor tried to get him to lie back down.

“I need to find Bo*,” Jonathan said.

“He’s in another room getting stitched up, he had a wound that was healing open back up, he didn’t say how he got it, but I’ll tell him your awake, now lay back down, I don’t want to have to sedate you,” the doctor said. Jonathan laid back down.

He was angry that he let himself get hurt. He didn’t want another visit to the hospital, that’s why he had gone to Lex. He didn’t want a chance anyone finding out Bo* was back in Smallville. Not until he had set things right with Bo*.

Bo* was finished being stitched up, and they gave him a cane to help him walk. He slowly opened the door to Jonathan’s room and walked in.

Jonathan opened his eyes and looked at Bo*, “Bo.”

Bo* didn’t move from the front of the doorway.

“Come in please,” Jonathan said.

Bo* didn’t move.

“Or don’t… that’s fine,” Jonathan said seeing as Bo* wasn’t moving, “how did you…”

“Drove the General here, got here in under 5 minutes from the farm,” Bo* said proudly.

“That… that’s some good driving,” Jonathan said smiling closing his eyes for a second, then opening them back up, “you need to go out there, and tell them to start the release papers, I need to get back to the farm, I cant be in here right now,” Jonathan said, “Martha’s going to call, she said she would call me if they were going to come home or need to stay longer, they’ll worry.”

“They already called,” Bo* said, “I heard them when I was going in for the keys to the General.”

“If they try again, and I’m not there, they’ll be worried,” Jonathan said.

“I’ll go back to the farm and wait for them to call,” Bo* said starting to step out of the room.

“Bo*… thank you, I…” Jonathan began.

“Don’t, after they call, I’m leaving, shot or not, I’m going,” Bo* said closing the door.

Jonathan sighed, but smiled, and closed his eyes as he drifted back of to sleep.

Bo* left the hospital and headed back to the farm to see the Kent’s truck in front of the house.

“Great…” Bo* muttered as he pulled up and got out of the car.

“Dad?” Clark said from inside the house, “dad?”

Clark walked out, followed by Martha to see Bo* standing in front of the General.

“Bo*… why are you out of bed? Where’s Jonathan?” Martha asked.

“He’s at the hospital,” Bo* told them.

“What? Why? What happened, is he ok?” Martha said getting worried.

Clark went up and grabbed Bo* by the shirt, and slammed him onto the hood, “what did you do to him!”

“Nothing!” Bo* said angrily, “get the hell of me,” Bo* told him.

“What did you do!” Clark shouted at him.

“Nothing! He fell in the barn… I went out to see why I hadn’t heard any noise, or anything, I heard a yell earlier, but didn’t think anything of it… I found him out in the barn,” Bo* said pushing Clark back, “now get off!”

“Clark stop it, Bo* thank you, we’re going to go over there, you should stay here, and get back in bed,” Martha told him, “Clark where are you going?” Martha asked seeing him head into the house.

“To get the guns… before someone decides to get trigger happy,” Clark looked at Bo*.

Bo* flipped Clark off.

“Dream on,” Clark replied going into the house, and coming out a minute later with the shotgun his dad kept, and 2 hand guns, one his dad’s, and the other the gun they took from Bo*.

Clark got into the truck with his mom, and took off. Bo* headed into the house when he heard the truck slam its breaks, and back up.

“Are you wearing my shirt!” Clark shouted.

Bo* flipped him off, and Clark glared at him before taking off again. Bo* then went inside and up to Clark’s room ready to get his clothes, if he could find them, his shirt, and jacket, and leave before they got back when he looked at the computer.

Bo* turned the computer back off, and sat on Clark’s bed for a bit. He had laid back just to think for a minute… and fell asleep.
