SMALLVILLE SEASON 10 COMICON PREVIEW!!! …and Job stuff…

27 Jul

So those lucky thousands who go to go to the San Diego Comicon that I would like to go to one day were not only lucky enough to see a Smallville panel WITH John Schneider returning as Jonathan Kent, and of course Tom Welling, but they also saw this!!!!

This video was embedded using the YouTuber plugin by Roy Tanck. Adobe Flash Player is required to view the video.

The fact that this is indeed the last season is sad, I have watched this show for the last 10 years and to see the final season is gonna be great and sad at the same time because once this is over, thats it. Can’t wait for it to start though!

Oh and I got an interview for a job today… hope I get it. Hope that I like it if I get it.

Kristen Stewart on George Lopez June 30th

6 Jul

So I finally watched my DVR’d eps of George Lopez and Wed June 30th when Eclipse opened Kristen appeared on George Lopez Tonight. I had seen her a few days before on Regis and Kelly I think it was. She looked actually really lady like, not like she’s usually looking. Her hair was lighter and very nicely done. On GL her hair was about the same just seemed longer, her makeup is more of a natural look, I think she’s really changing her look in a positive way. One thing that really stood out was her teeth… yes I said her teeth… it looks like maybe she had them filed down. I have to admit her teeth really did bother me when she was on screen, it was not a bad thing it just was a distraction. I had read that the producers had made Robert wear a brace on his teeth because they wanted him to have a perfect smile, which Robert did not think anything was wrong with his teeth to begin with, but it makes me wonder why did they make him fix his teeth before but not her? Anyways kudos to Kristen for the makeup change, and the lighter hair, I think it makes her look nice.

Here are her interview pieces I found on youtube… you can find other uploads of the same interview if you want as well, just search Kristen Steward George Lopez.

Amanda Bynes Tweets she’s retiring from acting…

21 Jun

So Amanda Bynes took to her twitter on the 19th early am hours and tweeted she has retired from acting, “I’ve never written the movies & tv shows I’ve been apart of I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play,” was the first tweet followed by, “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem, If I don’t love something anymore I stop doing it, I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it, I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve,” and closed it with a #retired. I for one hope this is either a late April Fools day joke, or a really really early one. Amanda Bynes is one of the only down to earth decent young actresses in Hollywood… please do not leave us with the actress’ like Megan Fox… can’t act and only get a job because of her looks. Someone should start a #reconcider+dont+retire+Amanda+Bynes, maybe I will.

Friday @ Phoenix Comicon

7 Jun

Updated June 9th to add pictures.

Ok so its been a week and I’ve not made my Fri, Sat, or Sun posts about Comicon but I’ve been busy. Anyways here it goes…

Friday was the first official full day of the con. I arrived early and checked in at the Hyatt where my sister and I were staying with a friend we met on the Phx Comicon board names Jedi Rabbit, he cosplayed as a jedi but with a rabbit head, he was a big hit. Anyways Jedi was kind enough to share his room with my sister and I so we were able to stay there Fri night and Sat night, it made things soo much easier. Anyways, we checked in, got our stuff ready, I my camera’s and lenses, my sister her stuff, and headed to the convention. I began by first heading to the exhibitor’s room and shooting pictures of the crowd. From there I shot pictures of people in costumes, specifically kids in costumes as they were adorable and we were asked to try and get images of kids in costume, I mean a 4 year old dressed as Optomis Prime is so cute.

After that I saw John Schneider and James Marsters sitting next to each other, 2 of my favorite actors right there next to one another, awesome and convenient. I was a bit surprised as they had signs up that said no posed photos, and one of the actors had a real mean ass of a manager. He was rude without warrant, and gave you a feeling of not wanting to be near him. He was just plain rude and jerk that entire weekend, and every time I came across. I don’t know if he thought I was trying to bypass their photo op fee or what be he was rude, I wasn’t trying to get a image with myself and the actor in it, I was shooting images of the actor for the convention, to turn in to that convention photographer managers as that is what I was volunteering as, a photographer.

Anyways, enough said about said jerk… talking to John was like talking to your dad, or uncle, or someone you comfortable with. He was very nice, and his hair still looked great. Talking with James was a bit different, he was hyper and you felt like things could explode at any moment but in a good way. He would just burst into a laughter and it was funny! Sadly I could not get a photo op with either as it was too expensive. JS was $30 and a signed photo of him as Bo or Jonathan Kent was about $20. JM’s photo op was the most expensive I believe of all the guests at a whopping $60. Now to be fair we were told that most of the money was going to charity but there was no sign as to what charity, or of anything at all about a charity, we were just told that. What was even more sad was that just an autograph was $45 dollars even if you brought you own item. I am sorry but in these times if people want to give to charity let them on their own accord, and don’t mix it in with a autograph or a photo op as it just makes them lose a bit of respect for you. Now I think it’s great that he wanted to share the proceeds with charity but for times right now, it just wasn’t acceptable for me and many others I spoke with. Now don’t get me wrong, I think the JM is great and kind and everything and don’t hold anything against him, its just some people wont and did not see it that way. Anyways, maybe one day I’ll get their autos on something, but lets move on…

That night my sister was going to be in the Zombie Beauty Pageant and I was going to go shoot that and take some video of it. Before the pageant there was going to be a walk through the downtown streets of Phoenix, a Zombie Walk. It was hilarious to see non-convention people just starring at all these people dressed up as Zombies. (I’ll post images here tomorrow, as we were asked not to post anything until the 8th to allow the convention to upload the images to their flickr account first). There was these 2 girls chained by collars to sticks that were held by these guys dressed as like Zombie S.W.A.T. agents. The amount of makeup and detail some people did, it was great.

Now let me say the pageant was great and entertaining especially when the Phoenix Ghostbusters got on stage and sang and danced to the Ghostbusters theme (while tossing twinkies out to the audience) it was also painful. Let me explain. The pageant lasted about 2 hours, for those 2 hours, the ENTIRE 2 hours I as well as a few other photographers, had to be on our knees. Needless to say my knees HURT and I mean HUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTT by the time it was over. They hurt for about a week after and sadly I did not have the lens to shoot in such low light, that was my main issue all week. I just don’t have a $2,000 dollar lens to shoot with. I hope that what I did get, is enjoyed by the con and the people who see it.

After the pageant I took some photos of Calabrese, a rock band. I also took a pic of my sister with one of the members with my sister still in her zombie makeup, I’ll post that here later too.

Then it was Rock Band time!!!

Wil Wheaton’s Rock Band, a 4 hour event of people playing Rock Band with Wil Wheaton in their band. I really got to give it to Wil, he stayed their 4 hours and played the entire time, except when he went on a bathroom run lol. He was a drummer, a base player, a guitar player, and lead singer. Felicia day also jumped on stage to play the guitar and then do some back up dancing for a song Wil was singing, while waving some glow sticks. This entire event was awesome!! I’ll be posting some video I shot later, but you can find some on youtube already, just seach Wil Wheaton Rock Band Phoenix Comicon 2010. This was the last thing I did on Fri as it was a bit after 2am when it ended, after that I went up to my room in the Hotel as this was held in the Hyatt, and tried to sleep.

Sat and Sun posts coming soon…

Phx Comicon Thur. night preview…

31 May

UPDATED ON JUNE 9th to add images.

I was lucky enough to be accepted as a photographer for the Phoenix Comicon this year being held in downtown phoenix at the Phoenix Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This year was my first year shooting at the Con and first year attending (it has always been to far for me), and let me say it was a hell of an experience. I’ve never dealt with all the many things and issues and complications shooting that I did these past 4 days. I’m going to break this down into a Thur. post (this one), a Fri. post, a Sat. post, and a Sun. post. After the images appear on the conventions website I will then post them on my own Flickr site, as well as my photography website, and on here.

I shot many things, peoples, people as things, and things as people. Sounds insane don’t it? Well it was, and it was also great! Ok now lets talk about Thur.

Thur. I had to work in the afternoon so I did not get to the Con until about 5:30pm. I entered quickly (glad to have been volunteering as the line for regular people not volunteering was down the side of the South building of the convention and it was hot) and was able to get my badge without an issue and the little blue ribbon that stated “Convention Photographer” that went under it, I had heard from my roommate at the Hyatt Jedi Bunny (I’ll post a pic of him later) that the line had started forming around 1:30pm or so… now remember its now the summer, and its also Phoenix, Az… outside, and costumes just should not mix. I felt bad for all those people who waited in line forever to get their badges and get it (yes that was a looong run on sentence, I know). I was anxious to get started and called one of the lead photographers as per instructions. I was then told what was needed as mentioned in an email I had received earlier and was then told “have fun, and good luck.”

The first thing I did was enter the exhibitor’s room and saw many MANY things. Everything you could think of from the comic and manga world was there. It was insane, but in a good way. I saw so many things I would have liked to buy, so many things I wanted that were not for sale but part of people’s costumes, and things I would never want lol.

What did I do? I started shooting pictures as that is what I volunteer’d for; I had been accepted as a photographer for the convention. We were given free range as to what to do with a bit of criteria. Big on the list was kids in costume, which you think would be easy there right? Nope. Thursday night they were about non-existent in costume and out. The few kids that I did see, I felt so awkward sort of following trying to get their pictures lol. I will say that at first the entire thing was a bit intimidating, it got better as the weekend went by but at times I still felt a bit I don’t know, out there, as this was a new experience.

The hardest shoot that night for me was the Anime Rave, it was almost pitch black aside from the glow sticks and a few party lights casted on the walls and floor. The images I shot in there I tried to capture using the light from the glow sticks and the lights being projected. I’ll post a few images in this post once the convention posts my images, if they like any that is lol!

I had stated to write this past last night but since I had about 10 hours if lucky the past 4 nights I crashed early and slept a lot today. I needed to refuel in the sleep department. I had hardly ate as well these past 4 days, just not any time to do anything because you don’t want to miss that shot, ya know. Well thats it for now, I’ll post Fri, Sat, and Sun, accounts later this week.

You know what… get over it.

15 May

Ok so I don’t make it my life to see what Disney kid star is doing with their lives but I came across an article about her “lap dance” video… she was dancing and they slowed it down to make it look worse than it was. Get over it people, she’s not gonna be some Disney little kid princess forever. If she’s lucky she’ll go a la route Christina Augilera and not Britney Spears, and not Lindsey Lohan. Then I saw her new video because it was also mentioned and criticized in the article, “Can’t be tamed.” Again, get over it. She’s almost 18, deal with it. The article also criticized her dad for saying something along the lines of “its what kids do.” Yes it is, just because she’s got a spotlight on her, should she act like a nun? Lets think about it as well, what if he did not approve, he’s backing her like a dad should in the media, behind doors we don’t know anything. Anyways, good for her. Here’s the video. They screened cap a image from the video as well and made it look like she was having some crazy sexual scene or something, in actuality it was on screen like a millisecond of a millisecond. If this is what the world is concerned about, she’s not the one with the problem, the world is.

Anyways, as a person who is going to school for digital photography, I think the concept of this video although similar to others, is nice. The lighting is great, the costumes would be awesome to shoot.

HAHAHA Nick Canon think’s he’s grown up!

15 May

SO Nick Canon thinks he can punk Eminem??? LMAO! He’s still a kid who got cradle robbed by a once good singer, now just annoying, pathetic and sad. Spray tan everyday with what was it 24kt gold? Yeah its her money to do with what she pleases, but that’s just stupid and some bullshit.

Nick Canon will always be a joke to me, and to read the blog post that is now deleted from his blog, but you can still read >HERE< is hilarious, because he thinks he can call Eminem out. LOL, your nowhere near Eminem.
