Update on 1and1 Situation…

Well after I sent them an email letting them know I would be talking about my experience so far and posting the emails, a day later I received a email from the Legal Dept. at 1and1. with the authorization codes. No longer the Transfer Dept. but the Legal Dept. was now emailing me. I immediately jumped onto my account at GoDaddy and began the transfer… or so I thought I was going to. Now I needed Transaction and Security ID’s for the domains that would be sent to… yep 1and1.

So I emailed back to the legal dept. and asked if they knew who (email of person GoDaddy sent the codes too) the email belonged to, and if I could get those codes. To my surprise within 5-10minutes I was forwarded the emails with the codes. Transfer Dept was terribly slow, but that I could have dealt with if they just communicated better. Tech Support over the phone, or through email was just bad. You would sit and not know what was going on, where the domains where, what one was suppose to do.

So whether it was just time that had to go naturally, or they took my last email to heart about posting my emails, the Legal Dept sure got back to me quickly and with the information I needed. All in all I think it was just a huge hassle. Lesson learned on my part, never let anyone renew your domains for you (this came about as I had no credit card, I do now though, so problem solved). And 1and1 just does not have good customer support communication. The legal Dept perhaps, but then again it is the Legal Dept. I thanked the lady from the Legal Dept. and she was very nice. But as I said, they need better communication and costumer service skills.

Now I believe everything is done, except waiting for 1and1 to release them. I entered all the codes and everything, so I hope that, that is the end of this.
